In 2019, both Puppet and Google researched and released their own State Of DevOps Reports.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a summary of the findings from both 2019 State of DevOps Reports.<\/p>\n<p><em>(More detail to come shortly!)<\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/puppet.com\/resources\/report\/2019-state-of-devops-report\/\">2019 \u2013 Puppet:<\/a><\/strong>\n<ol>\n<li>Doing DevOps well enables you to do security well.<\/li>\n<li>Integrating security deeply into the software delivery lifecycle makes teams more than twice as confident of their security posture.<\/li>\n<li>Integrating security throughout the software delivery lifecycle leads to positive outcomes.<\/li>\n<li>Security integration is messy, especially in the middle stages of evolution.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/services.google.com\/fh\/files\/misc\/state-of-devops-2019.pdf\">2019 \u2013 Google:<\/a><\/strong>\n<ol>\n<li>The industry continues to\u00a0<strong>improve<\/strong>, particularly among the elite performers.<\/li>\n<li>The best strategies for scaling DevOps in organisations focus on\u00a0<strong>structural solutions that build community<\/strong>, including Communities of Practice.<\/li>\n<li>Cloud continues to be a differentiator for elite performers and drives high performance.<\/li>\n<li>To support productivity, organisations can foster a culture of\u00a0<strong>psychological safety<\/strong>\u00a0and make smart investments in tooling, information search, and reducing technical debt through flexible, extensible, and viewable systems.<\/li>\n<li>Heavyweight change approval processes, such as change approval boards, negatively impact speed and stability.
